Comparison: OPI "Vampire State Building" and Color Club "Style Icon".

Today I have a comparison for ya. I recently acquired "Vampire State Building" in a blog sale and placed it on my counter and thought to myself, "I've seen this recently?"

Luckily, my Color Club 2012 fall colors were still out and "low and behold", "Style Icon" was a close match, based on the bottle.  Let's see how it is on the nail, side by side. :)

2 coats of each: OPI, Color Club, OPI and Color Club.

Nope, not even close. I was hoping these would be closer since the OPI is discontinued/HTF (Hard To Find) and from their older 2000 release, and the Color Club is new to their 2012 Fall line.

The OPI is a rich vampy brick wine creme, and the Color Club is more of a brick red creme. Both are pretty, but they definitely are not close. :)  Both applied smoothly, the OPI was awesome, but the Color Cub was harder to get opaque in 2 coats, it has a tendency to leave a lot of bald-spots on the nail. :(

This is why it is so important to look up swatches of a color before you purchase them. Bottle shapes and sizes can skew colors and make them seem richer or darker than they rally are.

Remember, always do your research online before you purchase a color. :) Keep it Sweet!
